Minted: Discover Beautiful and Affordable Artwork by Independent Artists

It’s amazing the difference a piece of artwork can make when adding the finishing touches to your home, office or business decor and not to mention the stimulating effects it has on our brains.  I find that displaying art can really pull together a room and it is such a great way to display personal style and taste.

I found an amazing woman-founded art marketplace called minted, where independent  artists and designers  from 48 states and 43 countries submit their artwork for the minted community to vote and give them the opportunity to sell their designs.  The winning artwork goes to the minted art marketplace where we can score these eye catching unique pieces and support these artists.

In addition to art prints and wall arts, minted also offers stationary for weddings, save the dates and customized stationary for any event.  I just spent hours looking through all their options and I invite you to check them out.  You will not be disappointed!

Here are a couple of my favorites:

Target Lovers, Don’t Miss This Amazing Offer!

If you love shopping at and love to save a pretty penny you definitely want to keep reading…

I just became a affiliate and a couple of days ago and I received an exciting email from Target letting me know about their REDcards  benefits and I think you’ll love the savings as much as me.

Before we get to the benefits and details of the REDcards, I want to mention that I absolutely love that we have the option to choose between a debit and  credit REDcards and still get the same benefits. That means that customers that prefer to pay cash or those who cannot get a credit line  are not left out of the amazing savings.

I personally like to keep as few credit cards open as possible, so the debit card is perfect for me. But if you prefer to pay your balance slowly or make larger purchases then the credit line might be a better fit for you.  There is no annual fee for either card but be sure to review the REDcard Credit for APR and late fees.  The REDcard debit is straight forward and works like a check like a check by drawing from your existing checking account.

Now the fun part —>The Benefits of  the REDcard debit/credit
REDcards Benefit 1:  5% discount on ALL purchases

This may not sound like a lot but this is actually a pretty good deal.  It is specially in a store as irresistible as target, where you can get pretty much everything you need backed by a price match guarantee.  My credit card only offers 1% cash back on all purchases and in less than a year I’ve accumulated $225 in free cash.  Of course I don’t carry a balance so it’s not like I’m giving that money back to them in interest.  If you think of the 5% discount as cash back and throw the savings into your piggy bank and you’ll watch it add up.

REDcards Benefit 2: Free Shipping

We also get free shipping at with no minimum purchase, whaaaa???  Now they are speaking my language.  If I had any objections about how much sense it makes get the card, this eliminates all doubts. Say no more, I am sold!  That means that I can rack up savings by purchasing groceries and home stuff without worrying about shipping costs or minimums.

REDcards Benefit 3: Extended Returns

An extra 30 days to be exact. Perfect for the busy person or procrastinator.  I consider this a savings of it own because how often do we go past that return deadline and end up keeping things we don’t need.

REDcards Benefit 4: Give back

Target is highly committed education and will donate  up to 1% of purchases go to school of your choice.

The online application process for debit and credit has immediate approval (except for some debit applications that require a few days to confirm a bank account).  As a REDcard holder you can easily check your credit card account balance, make a payment, review past statements, check their debit card transaction history and manage their PIN. They also get to enjoy exclusive offers available only to REDcard holders.

Don’t miss out on this awesome deal- apply here!

This is the final week of my 5-week review of the Morrocco Method (MM) rotation.  It’s been and amazing journey  and I’m happy to say I have already place my next order…which should be arriving soon.

For this final week I used the Earth Essence Shampoo*, which is meant for normal to oily hair types (my hair is on the extremely dry side) + I used the Floating Lotus Conditioner* which is my absolute favorite conditioner.

Here are my results:

morrocco method reviews - relaxer free hair

First thing I noticed is that my hair has grown quite a  bit and it needs a serious trim.  It hasn’t been growing in a while! so I am VERY happy about that…  I love long hair.  I feel like words are pointless at this stage.  I am obviously never going back to anything short of natural and organic and Morrocco Method is clearly my top choice.

I have gotten a hair trim since these pictures and I’m waiting on the spring equinox for perhaps get some layers.

What do you guys think of this 5 weeks review? If you have purchased MM after reading my review I would love to hear about it in the comments, and if you have any questions about switching over let me know also.

By the way, Morrocco Method has kindly extended my promo code, and  new customers can get 15% total order until the end of the month with  promo code: LUCKY710.

A Little Dominican Bakery in the Bronx

For the past week I have been stopping in this little bakery on my way home for a piece of their coco-piña, which is a coconut-pineapple flavored loaf cake…and it is ah-amazing!

But that’s not all the goods they have so I thought to give you guys a little peek into what kind of sweets you can get at a Dominican bakery.

Dominican Bakery in the bronx

Below is the picture of the coco-piña…yep it’s only $1! and next to it is a quesillo de fresa  {strawberry cheese cake}.

Below is typical birthday cake and every Dominican person gets a one of these on their birthday regardless of their age…

typical Dominican cake - yellow cake - birthday cake - nyc - bakery - bronx

The cake texture is very ‘airy’ and somewhat moist but not saggy or wet and it melts in your mouth. If you get it from a bad place it can sometimes be too dry or too sweet.  Visually it looks like a tacky looking wedding cake with white suspiro {frosting} and flowers and ribbons decorations but if you ever get a chance to try it is probably the best cake you’ll ever have.   It almost always has a guava, pineapple or dulce de leche filling in the middle which makes it even more decadent and delicious.

Here is a picture of one of my favorite desserts pudín de pan {bread pudding}.  The texture is harder than usual and the flavor is different. I personally prefer the more moist kind but this one is very good.

The pineapple upside down cake is not Dominican but it is staple in every  bakery.

Here are other things you can get…

tornillo de vainilla - reposteria dominicana - dominican bakery

chocolate cake - dominican bakery

And of course there is different kinds of bread…

This bakery sells pastelitos de queso {cheese empandas, we call empanadas pastelitos} and tostada Dominicana {cheese and butter on toasted pan de agua}.

They also have different tropical juices including tamarind, passion fruit, guava and others which is similar but a sweeter version of the Mexican agua fresca.

So there you have it, now  whenever you see this sign feel free to walk in…
