From Casual to Dressy – I Found the Perfect Little White Dress!

I found a really cute and affordable little white dress to  participate in the Long Live The Little White Dress campaign and (fingers crossed) hopefully be featured on luckyshops.com.

Here’s my post (originally posted here):

I found the perfect Little White Dress that can be worn at night or during the day. It’s comfortable, breezy, effortless and easy to wear. It’s flattering to every body type and it will make you feel so feminine when it’s flowing with the wind.

I chose a casual look for my LWD by pairing it with a floppy hat and chunky heels. I would wear this look to a BBQ, brunch or pretty much any daytime outing.

If you are looking for a night look, you can easily shift this dress by pairing it with high heel nude sandals like these and bolder jewelry like this one.

fanatics-6Tip: I used double sided tape on my bra straps to make sure the shoulders of the dress didn’t fall to the side and  stayed in place.

When I started blogging, I never thought I would be writing about fashion.  I joined a couple of affiliate programs from my favorite stores for my own shopping and found myself wanting to share the promotions with you.  Then I found that there were not many bloggers sharing work outfits, so I started the Office Style section to share what I find.  And now my fiance has a really nice camera and I love his photos so why not have fun with it!  This my first style post featuring myself, how did I do?

5 Eye-Catching Statement Necklaces for Work and Play – guest post with The Closet by Christie

Hi there, everyone! I’m Christie from The Closet by Christie blog and I’m so excited to be guest posting here at Lucky Seven Ten! Over at The Closet by Christie, I write about style for the office.  In celebration of Leslie’s new career section on Lucky Seven Ten, I’m here to tell you all about statement necklaces and how you can wear them to the office!
Here’s ‘5 Eye-Catching Statement Necklaces for Work & Play!’

target-turquoise-beaded-necklace, kate-spade-garden-bed-gem-necklace, white-house-black-market-grey-circle-bib-necklace, express-gold-cascading-chain-necklace, baublebar-cape-rope-collar-necklace, how-to-wear-statement-necklaces-to-the-office
Isn’t this necklace fabulous? I seriously fell in love with this necklace the moment I laid eyes on it! So, how can we wear this to the office? Keep it simple! The necklace goes beyond making a statement, so pair this with a basic neutral colored tee.
Kate Spade is one of my favorite brands because it’s so quirky and fun. This necklace is vibrant and full of color! Although it’s multi-colored, the big stones are white. This makes it more versatile! You can wear this piece with just about anything. It would look great with a blush oxford top!
WHBM has some of the most beautiful jewelry! This is one of my favorite boutiques, especially because of the jewelry and shoes; both beauty and quality. This necklace, although a statement style, can be worn with anything to the office. The muted tones and neutral colors makes it very versatile!
It’s interesting how something so simple can really make a statement! You don’t need bright colors to call it a statement necklace. For this piece, the amount of strands and the varying lengths is what gives it that dramatic appeal! This necklace would look great with a solid colored dress.
I love this necklace! This is perfect summer statement necklace for the office. The rope detailing gives it a nautical look, so this would look great with a navy or red dress (or even stripes!). Rope seems like a casual style but the gold detailing makes it so chic!

Thanks for welcoming me into your space today! I’ll be checking back here to this post, so feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions or if you want to share a few of your own style tips. How do you wear everyday trends to the office?

More from  Christie: The Closet by Christie is your 9 to 5 style guide; it’s all about the office! You can find anything from how-to style guides to what’s trending, and even office to happy hour transition looks! With all the time spent at work during the week, I find that my wardrobe consists mostly of office-wear. I love to find creative ways to maximize my clothing possibilities by incorporating my work-wear into my weekend-wear and vice-versa! For example, a few weeks ago I wrote a style guide on how to wear kimonos to the office (see previous post: How-To Style A Floral Kimono For The Office). It’s so important to do this because who has the resources to buy two completely different wardrobes?

Office Style Spring 2015: Midi and Pencil Skirts

This has been one of the longest winter in NYC but leg season is quickly approaching, so here I’ve compiled a couple of office appropriate skirts that you can easily wear to an after work event and still be dressed to impress.

The Trend: Knee High & Midi Length Skirts

Length is in, so for this post I am focusing on  knee and midi length skirts.  In general these skirts look best with heels (instead of flats), they are meant for dressing up but feel to use your judgement when selecting the right shoes for you.  If you are petite like me, I know what you are thinking,  but you can DEFINITELY rock these skirts, however you will absolutely need a little height boost from your heels otherwise you’ll get lost in it.

The Details: Slits, Color and Playful

To add a fun twist to a work outfit pay attention to the details.  Look for pieces that have zippers, a cool slit (but not over the top), colors, buttons and texture.  I would stay away from print unless you absolutely love it, because those are more memorable and therefore you will not be able to wear them as often.  Now simplicity goes a long way, you can also just pick very plain clothing and add a kick to the outfit with jewelry (I learned this being on a budget).

The Picks: Pencil Skirts

The Picks: Flowy Midi Skirts

Hope you enjoyed reading.  Let me know what you think in the comments!

Announcing New Blog Section – Office Style Picks

Hey lovies,

I think is so hard to find office style inspiration from fashion bloggers and that’s probably because work clothes is generally really boring!  So, who really cares to blog about that?!  But that leaves a lot us (myself included since I am not a fashion blogger) having to come up with our own fashion style for work and for lack of experience end up giving up and crawling back up to our comfort zone uniform.

But since I spend a minimum of 40 hours per week (2,080 per year) I am determined to look for cute office-appropriate affordable outfits that I can also comfortably wear outside of work to an after-work events or activity.  I stress affordable because at this point in my life I have some financial goal I am working on that I cannot compromise that for shopping, but that doesn’t mean I have to give up style.

office fashion = office style - 9 to 5

Starting today I will be posting my office-appropriate fashion picks on a regular basis.  Some posts will be store specific and some will just be a combination of pieces that I found appealing.  I will also include fashion inspiration for celebrities and other bloggers.

You can tip me off to something cute by leaving a link in the comment or sending me a message here.  You can also drop me a line if you want to contribute your picks in guest blog post.

Let me know what you think.

Xo, Leslie

PS super pumped for this!

Target Lovers, Don’t Miss This Amazing Offer!

If you love shopping at Target.com and love to save a pretty penny you definitely want to keep reading…

I just became a Target.com affiliate and a couple of days ago and I received an exciting email from Target letting me know about their REDcards  benefits and I think you’ll love the savings as much as me.

Before we get to the benefits and details of the REDcards, I want to mention that I absolutely love that we have the option to choose between a debit and  credit REDcards and still get the same benefits. That means that customers that prefer to pay cash or those who cannot get a credit line  are not left out of the amazing savings.

I personally like to keep as few credit cards open as possible, so the debit card is perfect for me. But if you prefer to pay your balance slowly or make larger purchases then the credit line might be a better fit for you.  There is no annual fee for either card but be sure to review the REDcard Credit for APR and late fees.  The REDcard debit is straight forward and works like a check like a check by drawing from your existing checking account.

Now the fun part —>The Benefits of  the REDcard debit/credit
three-offers
REDcards Benefit 1:  5% discount on ALL purchases

This may not sound like a lot but this is actually a pretty good deal.  It is specially in a store as irresistible as target, where you can get pretty much everything you need backed by a price match guarantee.  My credit card only offers 1% cash back on all purchases and in less than a year I’ve accumulated $225 in free cash.  Of course I don’t carry a balance so it’s not like I’m giving that money back to them in interest.  If you think of the 5% discount as cash back and throw the savings into your piggy bank and you’ll watch it add up.

REDcards Benefit 2: Free Shipping

We also get free shipping at Target.com with no minimum purchase, whaaaa???  Now they are speaking my language.  If I had any objections about how much sense it makes get the card, this eliminates all doubts. Say no more, I am sold!  That means that I can rack up savings by purchasing groceries and home stuff without worrying about shipping costs or minimums.

REDcards Benefit 3: Extended Returns

An extra 30 days to be exact. Perfect for the busy person or procrastinator.  I consider this a savings of it own because how often do we go past that return deadline and end up keeping things we don’t need.

REDcards Benefit 4: Give back

Target is highly committed education and will donate  up to 1% of purchases go to school of your choice.

The online application process for debit and credit has immediate approval (except for some debit applications that require a few days to confirm a bank account).  As a REDcard holder you can easily check your credit card account balance, make a payment, review past statements, check their debit card transaction history and manage their PIN. They also get to enjoy exclusive offers available only to REDcard holders.

Don’t miss out on this awesome deal- apply here!

Xoxo,

Leslie

New Years’s Eve is quickly approaching and as I prepare for the festivities the first thing on my mind is what will I wear?

As I browsed through the Rent The Runway dress selection, I thought to share with you some of the gorgeous dresses I found along with 20% off on your order of $50 with promo code: HAPPY2015.  The code can be used when you shop between 12/10-12/21, choose a rental start date between 12/26-12/31.
