Woodchuck’s Oopsy Daisy – A Crisp and Herbal Hard Cider

If you love the taste of herbal teas you have to try woodchucks Oopsy Daisy hard cider, the fourth craft from their limited-time Out on a Limb Series.  I had it last week and this stuff is really good! It’s also a great alternative in the summer for those of you who do not like white wine or beers.

One of my favorite drinks is champagne with splash of St. Germain elderflower liqueur and Oopsy Daisy, a floral and mildly sweet apple/chamomile flavor hard cider falls in the same category for my taste buds.  The chamomile and apple + honey makes such a pleasantly unique and refreshing pairing.

If you follow me on Instagram you probably saw this post:

Here are a couple of notes from the info sheet he sent me which I think describes it very accurately:

tea, floral , honey notes.

smooth, medium body.

crisp, smooth, sweet in the middle, delicate lingering after taste.

clear bright, liquid gold.

Alcohol %: 5.5% ABV

As a fan of  their cider, I am very flattered that Ben from Woodchuck noticed my newbie blog and contacted me to try Oopsy Daisy.   I probably wouldn’t have picked this up if I saw it on the shelf which would have been a pity because  I really like this flavor and I hope it comes back to the shelf every year.   It was not available in my immediate area but it is available at Whole Foods On Tap, and that’s a good enough a reason to take a break from grocery shopping.

You can try your luck and find it in your area on their store locator.

Out on a Limb ciders rotate every 30 day,  and past flavors included Chocolate Raspberry (which I missed but would LOVE to try!), Cheeky Cherry and Spitter Splinter (bitter apple).  Don’t miss a flavor, follow Woodchuck on twitter, instagram and facebook to stay in the loop.

Office Style Spring 2015: Midi and Pencil Skirts

This has been one of the longest winter in NYC but leg season is quickly approaching, so here I’ve compiled a couple of office appropriate skirts that you can easily wear to an after work event and still be dressed to impress.

The Trend: Knee High & Midi Length Skirts

Length is in, so for this post I am focusing on  knee and midi length skirts.  In general these skirts look best with heels (instead of flats), they are meant for dressing up but feel to use your judgement when selecting the right shoes for you.  If you are petite like me, I know what you are thinking,  but you can DEFINITELY rock these skirts, however you will absolutely need a little height boost from your heels otherwise you’ll get lost in it.

The Details: Slits, Color and Playful

To add a fun twist to a work outfit pay attention to the details.  Look for pieces that have zippers, a cool slit (but not over the top), colors, buttons and texture.  I would stay away from print unless you absolutely love it, because those are more memorable and therefore you will not be able to wear them as often.  Now simplicity goes a long way, you can also just pick very plain clothing and add a kick to the outfit with jewelry (I learned this being on a budget).

The Picks: Pencil Skirts

The Picks: Flowy Midi Skirts

Hope you enjoyed reading.  Let me know what you think in the comments!

Announcing New Blog Section – Office Style Picks

Hey lovies,

I think is so hard to find office style inspiration from fashion bloggers and that’s probably because work clothes is generally really boring!  So, who really cares to blog about that?!  But that leaves a lot us (myself included since I am not a fashion blogger) having to come up with our own fashion style for work and for lack of experience end up giving up and crawling back up to our comfort zone uniform.

But since I spend a minimum of 40 hours per week (2,080 per year) I am determined to look for cute office-appropriate affordable outfits that I can also comfortably wear outside of work to an after-work events or activity.  I stress affordable because at this point in my life I have some financial goal I am working on that I cannot compromise that for shopping, but that doesn’t mean I have to give up style.

office fashion = office style - 9 to 5

Starting today I will be posting my office-appropriate fashion picks on a regular basis.  Some posts will be store specific and some will just be a combination of pieces that I found appealing.  I will also include fashion inspiration for celebrities and other bloggers.

You can tip me off to something cute by leaving a link in the comment or sending me a message here.  You can also drop me a line if you want to contribute your picks in guest blog post.

Let me know what you think.

Xo, Leslie

PS super pumped for this!

Target Lovers, Don’t Miss This Amazing Offer!

If you love shopping at Target.com and love to save a pretty penny you definitely want to keep reading…

I just became a Target.com affiliate and a couple of days ago and I received an exciting email from Target letting me know about their REDcards  benefits and I think you’ll love the savings as much as me.

Before we get to the benefits and details of the REDcards, I want to mention that I absolutely love that we have the option to choose between a debit and  credit REDcards and still get the same benefits. That means that customers that prefer to pay cash or those who cannot get a credit line  are not left out of the amazing savings.

I personally like to keep as few credit cards open as possible, so the debit card is perfect for me. But if you prefer to pay your balance slowly or make larger purchases then the credit line might be a better fit for you.  There is no annual fee for either card but be sure to review the REDcard Credit for APR and late fees.  The REDcard debit is straight forward and works like a check like a check by drawing from your existing checking account.

Now the fun part —>The Benefits of  the REDcard debit/credit
REDcards Benefit 1:  5% discount on ALL purchases

This may not sound like a lot but this is actually a pretty good deal.  It is specially in a store as irresistible as target, where you can get pretty much everything you need backed by a price match guarantee.  My credit card only offers 1% cash back on all purchases and in less than a year I’ve accumulated $225 in free cash.  Of course I don’t carry a balance so it’s not like I’m giving that money back to them in interest.  If you think of the 5% discount as cash back and throw the savings into your piggy bank and you’ll watch it add up.

REDcards Benefit 2: Free Shipping

We also get free shipping at Target.com with no minimum purchase, whaaaa???  Now they are speaking my language.  If I had any objections about how much sense it makes get the card, this eliminates all doubts. Say no more, I am sold!  That means that I can rack up savings by purchasing groceries and home stuff without worrying about shipping costs or minimums.

REDcards Benefit 3: Extended Returns

An extra 30 days to be exact. Perfect for the busy person or procrastinator.  I consider this a savings of it own because how often do we go past that return deadline and end up keeping things we don’t need.

REDcards Benefit 4: Give back

Target is highly committed education and will donate  up to 1% of purchases go to school of your choice.

The online application process for debit and credit has immediate approval (except for some debit applications that require a few days to confirm a bank account).  As a REDcard holder you can easily check your credit card account balance, make a payment, review past statements, check their debit card transaction history and manage their PIN. They also get to enjoy exclusive offers available only to REDcard holders.

Don’t miss out on this awesome deal- apply here!
